147 water heaters were installed in Tsav, Srashen and Nerkin Hand villages

The German government, through its “Caucasus Initiative” program, has been supporting the biodiversity conservation and sustainable use in the region since 2000. During this period a number of programs have been implemented with the KfW Bank.

The Solar Thermal PPs were installed within the framework of the “German Financial Cooperation with the Republic of Armenia” program for the support of Armenia’s protected areas.

This time, the goal of this 6-year program is to support the improvement of natural resources and protected areas management in Syunik Marz, as well as to improve the socio-economic situation of the neighbouring communities.

With the cooperation of the Ministry of Environment, this project and the Freenergy Company 147 Solar water heaters were installed in Srashen, Nerkin Hand and Tsav villages of Kapan community, Syunik region.
